Grants

In 2011 the grants will have two levels of distribution – Introduction and Developing

Introductory level- two awards will be presented of $250 each
Development level – Three awards of $500 each.

There are no age limits.

Athletes wishing to apply for a Sporting Dreams Grant must complete the official application form and return it by the due date.

Conditions of Entry

Applications must be made on the official Sporting Dreams Application Form.
All applications become the property of the Sporting Dreams Fund
Applications must be received by the due date (Applications postmarked the due date will also be accepted).
Athlete must be a Queensland resident and a member of Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association.
Athlete must be enrolled/enrolling in a local competition/club if applying for the Introductor level fund.
Athlete must represent Queensland in competitions if applying for the Development Level Fund.
Applicants must agree to the terms and conditions specified in the grant application.
Applicants must have a physical disability and/or vision impairment.
Applicants are eligible to receive funds once every two years. This is at the discretion of the Selection Panel.
Expenses that can be claimed include travel to competition/training (all modes), competition fees, training costs and sport related clothing and equipment.
Applicants may be required to participate in public relations activities in relation to the fund.

Selection Criteria

Introductory athletes must demonstrate an intention to commit to the sport through regular training with a coach.
Introductory athletes must demonstrate an intention to compete at a local/state level during the term of the grant.
Developing athlete grants will be based on the performance/results from competitions held before the closing date of the fund as well as the expected competition/training schedule for the following year.
Please note, there are no age restrictions.
Athletes must be classified eligible to compete in sports for athletes with physical impairment or vision impairment.

Selection Process

To be considered for a grant, applicants must complete an application form and forward it to the Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association by the advertised closing date.

Selection panel

Applications are assessed by a panel of judges formed by Marayke Jonkers and the Association, followed by allocation of fund monies.

The panel will confer with development officers for the state sporting organisations prior to the selection panel meeting and obtain their recommendations in respect to the applicants.

Decisions the panel make will be final.
